United linked with €2million hidden gem voted Player of the Year at his club - report

One look at the current Premier League table will clearly show where Manchester United need to improve ahead of next season.

The Red Devils have created numerous chances in every game this season but have scored only 49 times in 32 games, the second-lowest tally among the top-nine sides.

Manager Erik ten Hag needs an elite goalscorer with links with Tottenham record goal-getter Harry Kane and Serie A leading scorer Victor Osimhen only getting stronger by the day.

Alieu Fadera links emerge

A surprising name has entered the fray through Voetbalkrant — Alieu Fadera of Belgian First Division A club Zulte Waregem.

The versatile attacker can play all across the front-line including out on the wings and up front. He is most prolific when playing out on the left.

The 21-year-old has managed nine goals and nine assists in 38 appearances across all competitions, for a goal-involvement ratio of 171 minutes.

The Gambian has been one of the shining lights for Zulte Waregem despite their relegation to the Challenger Pro League last week.

It is no surprise to see the Player of the Year at the club linked with the top names in Belgium and a few European teams are also circling.

“Club Brugge, Antwerp and RSC Anderlecht were already mentioned a few weeks ago, Club Brugge remains very concrete.

“English teams, Toulouse and Rapid Vienna have also been mentioned as possible hijackers on the coast. Trabzonspor and even Manchester United are also mentioned in the rumor mill,” the report mentioned.

Fadera’s market value is currently €2million according to Transfermarkt, a price the top sides will have no problem in matching.

It is surprising to see United linked with a versatile left-winger considering the abundance of riches at Erik ten Hag’s disposal in that area.

Fadera has proven himself in Belgium and might fancy a shot at the big time but he seems to raw to be brought to England. It might be a ploy to get the best deal out of him by his club.
