Man United take steps to sign sensational wonder-kid: report

Manchester United are reportedly taking steps towards signing one of Ecuador’s brightest prospects in Moises Caicedo.

During Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s era, the club have invested heavily in signing young players, even if they’re not going to go directly into the first team.

Just this summer two of United’s five major signings were youngsters in Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo with neither truly expected to tear things up for the senior side.

Caicedo fits that type of signing as well and he’s referred to as a bit of a South-American wonderkid.

The last Ecuadorian the Red Devils signed didn’t turn out to be half bad in reference to Antonio Valencia who served the club superbly.

The sensational teenager is already a full-blooded international, even grabbing a goal in the four appearances for his country.

Capable of playing in defensive and central-midfield, Caicedo is probably being looked at as the successor to Nemanja Matic.

The experienced Serbian is in the twilight of his career and Manchester United fans have been calling out for a defensive-midfielder for a few transfer windows now.

The hopes were that the club would sign a ready-made player but supporters would be willing to be patient with Caicedo if he does join.

This is now the second such report of this nature so the news is growing and it seems as though the interest from United is genuine.
