Major flaw in Man United's game exposed vs Leicester City

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer referenced the team’s lack of clinical edge vs Leicester City as a potential reason for the draw but it’s easy to argue it’s the problems on the other end of the field that needs solving.

Marcus Rashford frustrated fans with his performance despite netting the opener as he was guilty of missing at least two other good opportunities.

Had the young Englishman scored all his chances then United would’ve cruised past Leicester and he would’ve had his hat-trick.

However, most supporters were more concerned with the frailty of their defence as the Foxes’ goals weren’t particularly brilliant and could’ve been avoided.

The 2-2 draw was a result many accepted but were not pleased with given the context of the game and how the Red Devils could have won.

Today was the 7th time this season in the Premier League that Man United have conceded at least 2 goals in a game, despite the fact that we’ve only played 14 times. Desperately need of a new CB.

Not only does the statistic above give good cause for concern but Manchester United have also conceded 23 goals in 14 matches in the league which is not sustainable title-challenging form.

In comparison, Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur have conceded just 14 and given how Solskjaer has his players firing in the second-most goals in the league, it’s clear the defence is the problem.

In fairness to United, six of those 23 goals conceded came in a freak result for the Portuguese tactician’s side and perhaps isn’t reflective of the rest of the season.
