Fans' player ratings: Top score for player lucky not to be red carded

United fans on The Peoples Person Discord server have a chance to post their player ratings after each game. Here are @Cal_Wyldoak’s scores for today’s 2-2 draw with Leicester at the King Power Stadium.

(A score of 6 is around average.)

David de Gea 6 – Was OK in this game. He nearly made a big mistake in the first half, but otherwise played a decent game.

Eric Bailly 7 – A good game from Eric, wild man as always, you never know if he will intercept with his chest or his head. Glad to see him get minutes though.

Victor Lindelof 6.5 – An OK game from Victor, but RB is not his strong suit, although I understand why he and Eric played the positions they did.

Harry Maguire 7 – A good game from Harry, I saw him being a captain a couple times, but he NEEDS to work on headers. He could’ve given us one more goal for the win.

Luke Shaw 7.5 – Great defensively with tackles and interceptions, even better with possession and his passing was tidy. I would say he had a great game, although he needs to improve his crossing into the box.

Scott McTominay 6.5 – An OK game from Scott, got caught out of position for the second goal in my opinion, but otherwise provided some solidity to the midfield.

Fred 7 – The Midfield engine we needed, tackling everything in his path. He could become a great CDM if he improves his reading of the game.

Dan James 7 – James had a great game as RW, defensively solid, and amazing on the counter. His improvement needs to come in the reading of the game, and in one on ones. He could become a solid winger.

Bruno Fernandes 8-5 – Nearly got a red card for his “pashun” but he certainly remains the most important part of our team. Great goal too.

Marcus Rashford 8 – Rashford did well today, his passing has become a mainstay of his game, if only he could improve his one on ones some more he could become the striker we all want him to be.

Anthony Martial 7.5 – Martial continues to impress me, his improvement in chance involvement is great, and in my opinion he does not get enough praise from the average fan. Notice how he drops deep to help midfield, and uses his dribbling and hold up play to bring the ball forward.

Substitutes

Paul Pogba 6.5 – Good midfield presence, but he leaves me wanting more in the defensive department. I think Van de Beek would have been a better sub in this scenario.

Axel Tuanzebe 8 – Fast on the ball, solid in defence and I think better at RB than Lindelof. Not sure why he didn’t start over Victor.

Edinson Cavani 7 – Instant impact again as he came on, great assist too, what a great signing he’s turned out to be.
