According to the Daily Mirror, Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell is said to be interested in a move to Chelsea this summer.
The English defender has been heavily linked as a priority target for the West London club this season, although the 23-year-old has not officially asked to depart the Foxes at this time
Chilwell’s current contract at Leicester runs until 2024 and with the left-back being a first-choice player for Brendan Rodgers’ side, the Foxes are in no rush to let him leave.
The report goes on to add that Frank Lampard is quite eager for this move to happen after the transfer ban in the summer halted the manager’s transfer plans.
Leicester have seen many big guns from their changing room in recent seasons. Harry Maguire switched the King Power Stadium for Old Trafford, whilst Riyad Mahrez left Leicester and joined Manchester City.
If Rodgers manages to secure his side a Champions League spot this season, it puts them in a strong position to keep hold of key players for the next campaign, which could make it more difficult for Chelsea to complete a deal.

We believe that the signing of Chilwell would fit in with the current project that seems to be underway at Stamford Bridge under Lampard’s management.
The longer the season the went on, the more obvious it was that Chelsea needed additions to the squad as the Blues continued to drop points, especially at home.
The left-back position has always been a problem area for some Chelsea, with some, like us, believing that it’s not been the same since Ashley Cole departed West Lonon.
Chilwell has been very impressive for Leicester and we believe that 23-year-old would be a good fit for the regime at Chelsea.
He would provide a lot of threat going forward, as well as helping solidify the defence which has been questionable at times this season.
Of course, this all requires Leicester to accept a bid for the full-back and as Man United found out last summer, the Foxes are more than happy to hold out for huge transfer fees for their stars, like the world record fee it took for United to get Maguire.
