Manchester United starlet Brandon Williams once again proved his worth to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer by putting in a brilliant shift vs AZ Alkmaar.
The Dutch giants came to Old Trafford and started brightly, even dominating the first 45 minutes but the teams still went in level at the break.
United stepped up a gear in the second-half and managed to seal the 4-0 victory with Williams impressing on both ends of the field.
In a fixture where Solskjaer’s side had to prove their strength in depth as well as ability to step up in more lowkey matches, the academy prospect didn’t appear to be nervous at all.
In fact, Williams’ stats show he even dominated in certain areas of the field as he continues to give his manager a selection headache.
Brandon Williams vs AZ Alkmaar:
96 touches – most in the game
95% pass completion
76 passes completed
8 recoveries – most in the game
5/6 long balls completed
4/4 ground duels won
2/2 dribbles completed
2 interceptionsHe had a very solid game. pic.twitter.com/8lfA9UtwAJ

Having the most touches and most recoveries in a game shows just how central to the Red Devils’ game-plan Williams was.
Not only did he have plenty of touches but he also managed to keep the ball well as well as ensure he wins all his ground duels.
Since Juan Mata and Mason Greenwood stole the spotlight, it’s easy to let Williams’ performance go under the radar but the truth is he deserves just as much praise.
