Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has laughed off recent speculation regarding Nemanja Matic joining up with Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur in January.
The Portuguese, who took over the position on Wednesday after Mauricio Pochettino was sacked, has signed Matic as manager of Chelsea and Manchester United.
Moreover, Matic is tipped to leave Old Trafford in January after falling down the pecking order under Solskjaer.
Speaking about the rumours at a press conference on Friday, Solskjaer took a decidedly relaxed stance on the matter.
Solskjær on Matic commenting on an Instagram post about Mourinho at Tottenham: "That’s not a part of being boring when it’s like this. You like Jose coming back. It’s going to be a spectacle and a circus and Nemanja has a sense of humour." #mulive

Even Matic, as alluded to above, got involved in the ‘Matic to Spurs’ chat in the wake of Mourinho’s announcement. In a way, that is how social media works now. The subjects of a particular topic of discussion become part of the discussion itself, blurring the lines between the real and the virtual.
The only reason why he could do so was because, well, the transfer is not going to happen. But much like how Harry Redknapp will always be associated with Niko Kranjcar, or Rory Delap and Tony Pulis, Matic is always indelibly linked to Mourinho, as if they both grew from the same tree.
