Staff at Manchester United are ‘convinced’ that Erling Braut Haaland will complete a move to Old Trafford in the January transfer window, according to reports.
Haaland’s tally of 26 goals in all competitions this season has prompted Man United into viewing the Norwegian as their main target.
United are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements following the club’s decision to dispense with – and fail to replace – Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez over the summer.
According to The Athletic, staff at Carrington are confident of Haaland coming to Old Trafford in the upcoming window.
It is thought that Solskjaer’s relationship with Haaland – the player received his first appearance at Molde from the United boss – puts United considerably ahead in the race to sign the 19-year-old.
However, there are still a few stumbling blocks, such as the fact that Haaland’s agent is Mino Raiola, who United are militantly against negotiating with.
A transfer somewhere is almost guaranteed. Too whom, and when exactly, remains to be seen, but United can consider themselves to be in a relatively strong position.
