Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed Jesse Lingard has picked up a hamstring injury in the dying moments of the clash vs AZ Alkmaar.
The pacy Englishman’s luck has gone from bad to worse having found out earlier that he was going to be left out of the upcoming England squad.
Lingard’s form has been poor all season long with some fans arguing it has been more than a year since he’s enjoyed any productive performances.
The academy product was saved for the Europa League fixture but was brought on late on to try and force through a winner.
Unfortunately not only did he fail to do that but he also had to leave the pitch with United forced to play with 10 men.
Solskjær on Lingard: "I think he felt his hamstring, I don’t think he’s too bad. Probably not Newcastle but ready for Liverpool." #mulive

Even if Lingard is fit for the match against Liverpool, it’s incredibly unlikely he will start given the lack of productivity.
However, the problem is that Manchester United lack anyone of note to play in his place which is why he’s been starting by default of late.
Juan Mata and Angel Gomes are the only options and both still have plenty to prove before being regular starters under Solskjaer.
The alternative is to push Paul Pogba upfield but that means someone has to come into midfield and options are light there too.
