Unai Emery reportedly didn’t start Kieran Tierney against Sheffield United on Monday because he doesn’t think Sead Kolasinac deserves to be dropped (via The Daily Record).
It was another disappointing night for Unai Emery with some really questionable decisions across the pitch.
The tactical set up was poor and some the substitutions were questionable but it was the starting lineup which drew the most concern.
Arsenal just looked unbalanced in every area of the team with the selection of the full-backs drawing the most concern.
Calum Chambers and Sead Kolasinac both started while Kieran Tierney and Hector Bellerin are almost back to full fitness.
The former Celtic man is certainly closer to a first-team spot than Bellerin and now, there is a possible explanation as to why.
Reports suggest that Kieran Tierney didn’t start because Unai Emery doesn’t think that Sead Kolasinac has done anything worthy of being dropped.
It’s yet another questionable decision from Unai Emery. He may not think that Sead Kolasinac has made any glaring errors this season but that shouldn’t dictate selection policy. Kieran Tierney has already shown that he is better than the Bosnian in almost every department and should be thrown straight into the mix. Let’s hope that changes in the weeks to come but it’s unclear whether it will.
