Manchester United fans have been left with mixed feelings after their 1-1 draw with Liverpool despite the overall positive performance.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men led before the half-time break thanks to a brilliant counter-attack scored by Marcus Rashford and assisted by Daniel James.
United attempted to take the sting out of the fixture after the break and use their game management ability to squeeze out a win.
Unfortunately, despite doing it well for a large period of the game, Solskjaer’s side fell short at the final hurdle with their fierce rivals netting an equaliser.
There was an incredible need for the Red Devils to gain all three points due to their position in the league but they will have to make do with sharing the spoils.
So, so frustrating not being able to see the game out. You cannot switch off for a moment against top tier opposition because they can and will punish you.
Still though, it’s a good point. One we’d all have taken before the game. Lots of positives to take into Norwich.

Performance and tactics give Solskjaer some time, probably until at least the January window. It’s all very reactionary at the moment, but the recent record dictates that. #MUFC

Thoughts on draw vs Liverpool:
– Rashford looked much better
– Tactics were spot on from Ole
– Pereira’s best game for United
– Feels like we lost today
– Terrible defending for their goal
– James was very good
– Young and AWB were goodWhat’s your thoughts?

I'm sure many would have taken the point before the game, but the way it went down it feels like a loss. Some positives to take away, but loads of work to be done to properly compete.

Devastating to concede so late on, 2 points dropped instead of 1 gained but so many positives to take forward. Can’t fault the itensity or desire, need to see that every week now. OGS set-up was perfect until 70 mins, in-game tactics questionable. On to Thursday #MUFC pic.twitter.com/k5nv2Vqgex

Before the game we all would have taken the point. Seeing how the game went it looks like we dropped 2 more points. Regardless the players gave everything on the pitch. No need to criticize anyone they have had plenty of that this season. #mufc

Solskjaer used a 3-5-2 formation of sorts to get the best out of his players as he used Rashford and James’ pace to get in behind the spaces Liverpool’s full-backs would leave open.
It worked a treat and the truth is Manchester United could’ve gotten a second to kill the game off but they failed to convert.
Hopefully Solskjaer’s key players will start to return from injury now and they can help the club climb up the table.
