Gary Neville has pinpointed Kylian Mbappe, N’Golo Kante and Raphael Varane as his dream three Manchester United signings if he had a blank cheque.
Varane’s name has been mentioned since about 2013, but the need for the Real Madrid man has been reduced by Harry Maguire’s arrival.
Mbappe and Kante are both no-brainers given that United’s attack and midfield is seriously undernourished following the club’s decision to sell but not replace Marouane Fellaini, Ander Herrera and Romelu Lukaku over the summer.
Neville revealed this dream list during a Q&A with his Twitter following – which you can imagine required some serious sifting through in order to find PG material.

While Mbappe is out of the question, it would be interesting to see if United were targeting a player of the Kante profile – or perhaps Kante himself?
With Nemanja Matic’s legs going and Scott McTominay not really an authentic holding midfielder by trade, United must think about this area carefully. The lack of anchoring and calm in that midfield has been there to see over every game so far this season and really ought to be placed higher on the list of priorities than acquiring another lucrative name up-front.
