Manchester United are reportedly hoping to offload two centre-backs before the summer transfer window ends.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently acquired Harry Maguire to take the squad’s centre-back options up to seven members.
Along with the talented Englishman there’s Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Marcos Rojo and Axel Tuanzebe.
With news recently emerging that Tuanzebe won’t be sent out on loan and Lindelof and Maguire are certain to be the new United partnership, it’s likely Rojo, Bailly, Smalling and Jones are the candidates to leave.
Solskjaer probably already knows who he wants to sell but fans can only speculate who’s the most likely to depart.
#mufc still want to sell two centre-backs before the end of the European transfer window but it's hard due to their high wages. The club hopes their desire to play football will see those players more inclined to move #mulive [the athletic]

It could be argued Rojo is almost certain to leave given how far he’s fallen behind the pecking order while Smalling may depart due to his inability to play on the ball well.
Bailly’s proneness to injury could see him sold in the long run but perhaps not this summer.
Jones could also be seen as injury prone but it’s fair to say he’s the best of the bunch in terms of passing. He’s also relatively young in comparison to Smalling and Rojo.
The above players’ high wages is likely to be a sticking point and it’s tough to imagine European clubs purchasing any of them given English clubs no longer have the option to.
