Marcos Rojo has been left ‘angry’ after his deadline day move to Everton from Manchester United failed to materialise, according to a report.
The defender has only made 14 Premier League appearances in two campaigns and does not figure in the plans of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season.
Rojo was seen with his agent arriving at Carrington on deadline day as Everton made a late push to sign him, but nothing ever transpired.
According to the Times‘ Paul Hirst, the Argentine has been left angry by United’s inability to strike a deal with the Toffees and is determined to leave Old Trafford before the European summer transfer window ends on September 2.
Rojo was set to complete a loan move to Goodison Park, but United changed the parameters of the deal which prompted Everton to walk away from the transfer.
Various reports have stated that Rojo has attracted interest from clubs in France, Italy, Spain and Turkey.
It was claimed that United also rejected an approach from Everton for Chris Smalling, who Solskjaer views as first-choice backup for defensive duo Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof.
However, with seven central defenders now at the club, there is quite simply no place for Rojo in this team anymore. And if we’re honest, there hasn’t been for some time.
