Lindelof reveals main difference between Mourinho and Solskjaer

Manchester United star Victor Lindelof has hinted that the main difference between Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is how hard-working the latter has made his team.

The legendary Norwegian has publicly discussed the need to work on his squad’s fitness and it’s clear to see they’ve benefitted from having a pre-season to work on it.

United started Solskjaer’s reign fantastically but once their energy levels dipped and fatigue settled in, the season ended poorly for them.

So far this season the former striker has overseen his side win against Chelsea while draw against Wolves and now Lindelof and co will be looking for all three points against Crystal Palace.

Solskjaer will be hoping the dropped points against Wolves will only be a blip as they will need to embark on an early winning run if they hope to achieve a top four spot this season.

According to the club’s official website, Lindelof said: “We worked very hard [in the summer] and you can see that in the games as well.

“We run much more now and have the capability of sprinting at high speed, even in the 80th or 90th minute. It’s very important to be able to do it in football. It’s been great.

“I think the fans are always behind us and we have been improving a lot. I reckon we can improve even more under Ole and the other staff.

“I think we work very hard for each other as a team and run a lot. I think that is what the fans want to see.”

Given the squad’s poor fitness under Mourinho, the question begs what could’ve been had they been better prepared.

After all, Manchester United had plenty of false dawns and perhaps better fitness would’ve seen a different end to the Portuguese’s time at Old Trafford.

It was believed former assistant manager Rui Faria was in charge with fitness and so perhaps his departure meant Mourinho’s squad suffered in his absence.
