Frank Lampard will be unveiled as Chelsea’s new manager on Thursday, according to the Guardian.
The Blues legend has been the clear front-runner to replace Maurizio Sarri ever since the Italian left for Juventus.
Although it has taken time for a deal to be agreed, Chelsea supporters will finally be able to call Lampard their new boss on Thursday.
The 41-year-old was at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening to “complete the formalities” of his move.
Lampard shone in his first managerial role at Derby County last season, guiding them into the Championship playoff final.
Although inexperienced, his appointment is an exciting one, as he looks to enjoy a similar impact to his playing days in west London.
The former midfielder will have a tough job on his hands, however, with a two-window transfer ban making life difficult.
Lampard’s first competitive match in charge will be away to Manchester United on August 11th.
