Manchester United may have indirectly become successful in their attempts to keep Juventus away from Paul Pogba amid uncertainty over his future.
The Frenchman has been linked with a return to the Italian giant as well as moves to Barcelona and more intensely to Real Madrid.
The midfielder’s confession of it being a dream to play for the Spanish capital club, particularly under Zinedine Zidane, saw him strongly rumoured to leave United this summer.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are understood to have refused to negotiate terms and will hold out for £150m even if strong-armed.
The Serie A side don’t currently have the funds for such a move but reports emerged they were willing to offload stars to force through a move for Pogba.
According to the Daily Mail, Mino Raiola’s transfer ban was upheld in Italy, meaning a move to Juventus for Paul is impossible unless his drops his agent.
The notorious agent’s global ban was dropped and only limited to Italy meaning the academy product could still leave to Spain.
However, given how Madrid’s spending has exceeded £250m, a move for Pogba seems rather unrealistic at the moment.
Manchester United fans shouldn’t celebrate just yet though given how the La Liga side are planning to sell some unwanted stars to bring in Zidane’s last piece of the puzzle.
