Reiss Nelson has insisted that he wants to return to Arsenal and play a starring role for the Gunners (via The Times).
There is a great deal of uncertainty at Arsenal right now when looking at the right winger Reiss Nelson.
For some, he deserves a chance at a starting spot in the team but others don’t believe he is ready for first-team action.
The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at Hoffenheim and experienced some ups and downs in Bundesliga.
“I not only developed as a player in Germany but also as a person,” Nelson said.
“There were times when I wasn’t starting and I didn’t have a lot of people to talk to, just my family. It made me grow up as a person and on the pitch it showed.
“Whenever I got minutes, I’d have to take any opportunity that came my way.
“I learned so much stuff at Hoffenheim and made a lot of friends. I also made good connections with the managers. They taught me a lot that I can take on in my career.
“Leaving was difficult, but Arsenal are my team and I want to go back to Arsenal and play.”
Reiss Nelson could well play a role in the first-team for Arsenal next season. The 19-year-old impressed at times for Hoffenheim last term and deserves a chance in the first-team.
