Derby County have “cranked up the pressure” on Frank Lampard, as talk of his future continues to dominate the headlines.
Lampard is the strong favourite to replace Maurizio Sarri as Chelsea manager this summer, returning to the club that made him a legend during his playing days.
There is still no confirmation that he will exit Derby, however, and he is due back to work for pre-season at the end of this week.
The Championship club want his future resolved before then, according to the Mirror, in order to focus on next season.
Lampard has been on holiday with his family, but he is now under pressure to sort matters either way.
Derby’s players return to training on July 1st, before heading out to America for a training camp later next week.
The Rams have offered Lampard a new deal, having impressed in his first season as manager, but a Chelsea return looks highly likely.
