Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku appears set to join Inter Milan this summer after his agent confirmed their interest, ending speculation.
The Belgian had praised the Serie A side’s new manager Antonio Conte, claiming he’s the best manager in the world.
Reports started to link the striker with a move to Italy, particularly after he declared a desire to one day play there.
However, it is only now that fans get a direct and open news source from Lukaku’s agent as he reveals Inter’s interest is real.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was said to be not openly looking to sell the former Chelsea man but that appears to be far from the case and now United will need a replacement.
According to the Mirror, Romelu’s agent Federico Pastorello said: “Lukaku is a dream, a difficult one to make happen as such. But I believe nothing is impossible.
“Yes, Inter are trying hard [to sign Lukaku]. He’s [Lukaku] publicly expressed his plans and desires. We’ll see what happens.”
It would be unwise to sell Lukaku without bringing someone adequate in as he is one of the Red Devils’ few proven goal-scorers.
The likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial still have question marks over their heads whether it’s consistency issues, lack of clinical edge or ability to lead the line.
Paul Pogba was the club’s top scorer last season and he cannot be relied upon again to get the much needed 20-30 goals from a striker.
