Chelsea have suffered a slight setback in their pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen starlet Leon Bailey, as his agent confirms the winger would be best suited to staying in Germany for at least another season.
The Blues had been linked with a move for the 21-year-old once again this summer, after showing an interest in the winger prior to last season, and an immediate move for Bailey would depend on whether the Court of Arbitration for Sport freeze the two window transfer ban for this summer.
However, according to Get German Football News, Bailey’s agent Craig Butler has suggested that regardless of whether CAS freeze Chelsea’s transfer ban, the winger would be suited to at least another season in the Bundesliga.
He feels very well in Leverkusen. At the moment I can say: one more year in Leverkusen would be best for Leon.
While it may be an immediate setback for the Blues, Butler did not rule out a move next summer, when Chelsea’s transfer ban may well be over.
