Torino have activated their €10 million option to buy Ola Aina from Chelsea, club president Urbano Cairo has confirmed.
Speaking at the Lega Serie A assembly in Milan, as reported by Football Italia, the chief of the Italian outfit revealed that a deal has been tied up for the Blues youngster.
He said:
We’ve redeemed Aina for €10m, as well as Cristian Ansaldi, and Koffi Djidji. Now Torino own all their players.
Chelsea sent Aina out on loan after handing him a new three-year contract at the club.
The Nigerian was tipped for big things at Stamford Bridge but was not given ample opportunities to shine in the first team, which saw him depart temporarily to Italy.
Under Walter Mazzarri at Torino, he has emerged as a pivotal player, shining on the left-hand side.
Such was the level of Aina’s performances in Serie A, the club have moved quickly to ensure that their €10 million option to buy clause was activated.
Cairo has erased any doubt that the 22-year-old will be playing his football at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino next season.
