Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Mason Greenwood will feature against Cardiff City on the final day of the season.
The youngster made his senior debut during those euphoric final moments in Paris back in March, and featured from the bench in Premier League games against Arsenal and West Ham United.
However, with both Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku out of form, many supporters have called for Greenwood to be handed a full start to boost United’s attacking vitality.
And Solskjaer has confirmed that Greenwood, as long as he recovers from a minor injury in time, will play against Cardiff at Old Trafford.
Ole: “Hopefully we can see Mason before the end of the season. He won’t be involved now because he’s injured, but hopefully the last game against Cardiff he’ll get his injury sorted and he’ll be ready.” #mufc [MU]

The 17-year-old has proven himself to be a cut above the youth ranks this season. It would be genuinely pointless for him to have another season endlessly scoring goals against fellow kids when his career is best served by going up against the big boys.
And Solskjaer knows that. The Norwegian stated clearly last month that Greenwood, now with 30 goals across all age groups this term, would be given the chance to develop in the United first team. A big stepping stone towards that would be to play 90 minutes of Premier League football ahead of pre-season in the summer, where he can further impose himself on a team set to change quite significantly.
