Chelsea have applied for a visa for highly-rated starlet Mason Mount so he can join the club’s pre-season tour of Japan following a successful loan stint at Derby County.
Mount has looked mightily impressive under Chelsea legend Frank Lampard in the Championship this season and has helped Derby to the play-off final, but now it looks like his chance in the Blues’ first-team is just around the corner.
Due to the club’s impending two-window transfer ban, it’s likely they will utilise some loanees to bolster options in the first-team set-up and Mount appears to be at the top of the pile.
The Daily Mail report Chelsea want Mount to be a part of preparations for the 2019-20 season after he’s widely impressed on-lookers during loans at Vitesse Arnhem in the Dutch Eredivisie last season and now Derby.
The 20-year-old has scored ten goals and provided six assists in 41 appearances for the Rams, and received his first senior England call-up from Gareth Southgate earlier in the campaign.
Mount has shot through the youth ranks at Stamford Bridge and could be about to become the latest starlet to make his debut for the club.
