Chelsea have been dealt a transfer blow this summer as Thorgan Hazard has confirmed his move to Borussia Dortmund.
Hazard has revealed that he will be signing for Dortmund and leaving Borussia Monchengladbach, after impressing for the German side this season.
The Belgian international racked up 10 goals and 10 assists in the Bundesliga for Monchengladbach, attracting interest from a host of clubs.
Chelsea are said to have been interested in a deal to sign Hazard back, although they do not yet know whether or not they will be able to do business this summer.
The club are currently serving a two-window transfer ban, imposed upon them by FIFA for breaking rules in regards to the transfer of youth players. Chelsea could yet appeal and be allowed this summer before a final decision is made, however.
Speaking to Di Marzio, as quoted by Football London, Hazard said this about his move to Dortmund:
The reasons are clear when you are called by such a great team.
