Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has insisted he would allow several of the club’s stars to run out their contracts, ending their time at Old Trafford.
The former midfielder was a part of one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s greatest sides and knows just what’s needed to compete at the highest level.
Scholes was an outspoken pundit during Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho’s respective reigns and now after a short stint as Oldham manager, he’s returned to the TV screens with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in charge.
The Norwegian himself has insisted he understands how difficult the task he has ahead is and claimed Liverpool and Manchester City were far ahead of United.
With the upcoming summer shaping up to be one of the club’s most important ones in recent memory, Paul believes he would let a host of the players leave for free.

There hasn’t been much news of Juan Mata or Matteo Darmian‘s contracts but it has been confirmed Antonio Valencia will leave the club at the end of the season.
Ander Herrera has been linked with moves to Arsenal and PSG with fans increasingly concerned over the lack of progress on a renewal.
Some supporters would be happy to let Mata and Darmian go so the only controversial name on Scholes’ list is Herrera’s.
