Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused to believe David de Gea was to blame for Arsenal’s opener, instead focussing on the unpredictability of the shot.
Granit Xhaka was the man to grab the first goal at the Emirates with Gary Neville hugely critical of the way the Spaniard dealt with the shot.
The Swiss international’s effort was from long range but his shot swerved before nestling in the net to everyones surprise.
Neville insisted on live television that De Gea gambled with the shot and didn’t read it correctly, claiming the shot didn’t actually swerve uncontrollably.
Fellow pundit Jamie Carragher believed the goalkeeper wasn’t at fault, stating that in real time the effort couldn’t have been dealt with adequately.

Solskjær: "I'm stood right behind the ball and we never put pressure on Xhaka. He must be Brazilian because it swung one way then the other." #mulive

Gary baffled United fans as he seemed to hint David’s mistake may be due to his ongoing contract negotiations with the club.
The club legend suggested it distracted the former Atletico Madrid man which then caused the apparent error.
However, Neville was being harsh as De Gea’s concentration was never called into question previously despite negotiations going on for quite some time now.
The 28 year old was previously applauded in the past for seemingly having nothing to do before coming up with a match-winning save out of nowhere.
