Manchester United will reportedly remain tough on Paul Pogba amid interest in him from Europe’s top clubs.
The Frenchman upset fans during the international break as he flirted with Real Madrid, claiming they are a dream club, especially with Zinedine Zidane now back there.
It’s not the first time Pogba hints at a move elsewhere but supporters were understanding given his situation.
Jose Mourinho had clearly experienced a breakdown in his relationship with the midfielder so it was no surprise news arose of a transfer abroad.
Now however, the former Juventus man is supposedly happy under new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has no reason to wish to leave.
According to ESPN, the Red Devils will reject any interest in Paul and are planning on opening contract negotiations to secure his future at the club.
The academy product’s current contract runs out in 2021 with an option to extend it a further year according to Transfermarkt.
It could be that Pogba is playing the long game, attempting to win himself a new contract at the peak of his career.
It’s also believed that Alexis Sanchez’s arrival has upset the player dynamic at the club in the sense that everyone wants a pay raise as well.
