Eden Hazard has acted quickly to deny reports claiming he’s agreed a move to Real Madrid in the summer.
Reports in Spain this week suggested the Chelsea winger was set to earn £270-a-week over five years at the Bernabeu after a £98million bid was accepted.
However, Hazard himself has come out whilst on international duty with Belgium to shut down the rumours.
There’s nothing in the reports. I’m only focused on [Sunday’s] game against Cyprus. That’s all I’m thinking about.
The reports come as no surprise, with Hazard regularly flirting with the chance of working under Zinedine Zidane at Real, and the Frenchman’s return has reignited talk over a move happening.
Chelsea are currently languishing in sixth in the Premier League and have endured a fairly miserable first season under Maurizio Sarri, despite reaching the Carabao Cup Final and only losing on penalties.
Sarri has insisted he is happy to see players that aren’t 100% invested in the club leave when they want, but if the controversial Italian is dismissed at the end of the campaign it’s likely the new boss in charge won’t let him go without a fight.
