Olivier Giroud could be pricing himself out of a summer move away from Stamford Bridge.
According to reports in France, both Marseille and Lyon are interested in signing the striker this summer.
Giroud is out of contract at Chelsea at the end of the season, but could yet extend his stay in London if the club triggers their automatic extension clause.
After failing to hold down a starting place at both Arsenal and Chelsea, Giroud has long been linked with a move back to France, but the player’s wage demands are now believed to be a problem.
The report claims that Giroud currently earns around £3 million a year with Chelsea, figures that he may not be able to match playing in Ligue 1.
However, with the player due to turn 33 later this year, he may want to make a move where game time is more guaranteed as he approaches the latter stages of his career.
