Gonzalo Higuain has no future at Juventus if Chelsea decide not to sign him this summer, according to Calciomercato.
The Argentina joined the Blues on loan in January, having spent the first half of the season at AC Milan.
The arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo at Juve saw Higuain deemed surplus to requirements in Turin.
He has struggled to fire since moving to Stamford Bridge, scoring just three goals, all of which have come against the Premier League’s two lowest-ranked sides, Huddersfield Town and Fulham.
Chelsea have an option to buy Higuain on a permanent basis at the end of the season, but it doesn’t look likely.
Juventus are thought to be “calm” about the situation, however, and they will offload the 31-year-old if the Blues choose not to retain his services.
Age does seem to be catching up with Higuain, although his lingering class can still be a potent weapon for Chelsea between now and May, as they look to clinch Europa League glory and secure a top-four finish.
