Big transfer news, key 19yo Man United target open to summer move

Benfica wonder-kid Joao Felix has dropped his biggest transfer hint yet over a potential move to Old Trafford by praising former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.

The youngster has been heavily linked with a move to United, particularly during Jose Mourinho’s management.

Ronaldo enjoyed a positive period of time in England having moved over from Portugal himself as a teenager before moving on to Spain then Italy.

Felix has been widely expected to have a similar career path with many believing he will leave Benfica sooner or later.

The forward would definitely bring excitement to the Red Devils’ attack but whether a move is on the cards is yet to be seen.

According to the Mirror, Joao said: “My dream is always to play for the big teams and in the big competitions, but as I’ve already said, I am here and I am very happy at Benfica, who are also a big European team.

“Maybe, yes (paying €120m release clause is crazy). But I don’t understand the market or values, they are things for agents and presidents. I confine myself to playing.

“I don’t know him (Ronaldo). He’s an enormously hard-worker, an exemplary footballer for everyone.

“Everybody knows his story, that it wasn’t easy. He’s been one of the best in the world for many years and he will carry on being so for a long time. Real Madrid are really feeling his absence.”

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are said to be seen as the club’s future attacking force with the board also keen on adding Jadon Sancho to their ranks to secure an exciting attacking trio.

Felix could potentially be brought in instead but it does seem unlikely given the price-tag and how Manchester United are more interested in promoting from within instead.

There have been reports claiming Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is interested in signing two full-backs, a right-winger and an attacking midfielder if he is handed the permanent position.
