Arsenal have reportedly named their priced for Matteo Guendouzi after Paris Saint-Germain’s rumoured interest in the player (via The Metro).
It hasn’t been the best season for Arsenal so far but one of the biggest positives has undoubtedly been Matteo Guendouzi.
The 19-year-old signed for the Gunners for £7 million from Lorient in the summer and has since established himself as one of the club’s leading midfielders.
Guendouzi has been a regular fixture in the starting lineup for Unai Emery after the Gunners beat Ligue 1 champions PSG to his signature in the summer.
Now, it seems as if the French side are once again keen on bringing the player to Paris with reports that Arsenal would want upwards of £60 million for the player.
Guendouzi actually spoke about PSG’s reported interest several months ago
“It is true that PSG were very interested, like other teams, there were a lot of discussions, but for me, the best decision I could make was to join Arsenal,” Guendouzi said in December.
“Once they positioned themselves, I didn’t hesitate, I orientated myself in that direction. I think when I was young I watched a lot of Arsenal, but the fact that there are a lot of French guys there played a big role.”
Matteo Guendouzi has been an excellent signing for Arsenal since his summer move. The Frenchman has impressed in almost every match he has played with his performance in the 3-1 defeat to Manchester City earlier this month a particular standout. Let’s hope the club refuses to sell and Guendouzi remains at the Emirates for many years to come.
