Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud wants to exercise the option in his contract to stay for another season.
Giroud’s current deal at Chelsea is due to expire in the summer, but there is an option to extend the contract for a further 12 months.
The French international joined Chelsea from Arsenal in January 2018 on an 18-month deal, and has scored four Premier League goals in that time.

Giroud has played 47 times for Chelsea in all competitions since his switch and managed to net 11 goals – with five of those coming in the Europa League this season.
According to Le10 Sport, via Sport Witness, Giroud’s priority is to stay with Chelsea for at least one more season, despite limited involvement in the Premier League under Maurizio Sarri.
Chelsea completed the signing of Gonzalo Higuain on loan from Juventus in January and the Argentine is Sarri’s first choice striker ahead of Giroud at this moment in time.
