Reports suggest that Arsenal have identified Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz as a potential replacement for Mesut Ozil (via The Mirror).
Whatever your opinions on the situation regarding Mesut Ozil and Unai Emery, it’s clear that things cannot continue as they are now.
The German playmaker is being paid far too much money to not be involved in the first team and it seems as if it is only a matter of time until he leaves the club.
With that in mind, the Gunners will need to find a replacement for the 30-year-old and it seems as if they have identified a potential target.
Kai Havertz is his name, a 19-year-old midfielder for Bayer Leverkusen who has scored an incredible 9 goals in 22 Bundesliga matches this season.
Havertz is also said to be a target for Bayern Munich with reports that Leverkusen would want upwards of £50 million for their star man.
Kai Havertz is clearly an enormously talented midfielder but has actually stated Mesut Ozil as one of his rivals. The 19-year-old could be an excellent replacement for his one-time idol if Arsenal choose to sell the German.
