David de Gea 6 – Didn’t have much to do despite Liverpool’s dominance in terms of possession.
Ashley Young 6 – A few early nervy touches but was later solid if unspectacular. Was superb against Chelsea but couldn’t replicate the performance here.
Victor Lindelof 7 – Kept up his recent good form and mopped up any loose balls well.
Chris Smalling 6 – Left the ball-playing and covering to Lindelof as he dealt with most of the aerial duels well along with being aggressive.
Luke Shaw 7.5 – Pocketed Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah superbly and made sure to support his centre-backs with any necessary defensive cover.
Scott McTominay 5.5 – Came in for the injured Nemanja Matic and unfortunately couldn’t fill his big boots at all. Was tireless but couldn’t bring the ball out of midfield.
Paul Pogba 7 – Wasn’t his usual creative self but put in a tenacious shift alongside two inexperienced midfielders in McTominay and Andreas Pereira.
Ander Herrera N/A – Substituted off early.
Juan Mata N/A – Substituted off early.
Marcus Rashford 6 – Suffered an early injury but remained on the pitch solely because Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made all three of his substitutions. Given the circumstances he played decently.
Romelu Lukaku 6 – Probably his best performance in recent matches. He was frustrating at times but put in a shift out of position. Played a superb pass in for Jesse Lingard who unfortunately couldn’t capitalise.
Substitutions
Alexis Sanchez 6 – His struggles continue but at least he was willing to cover every blade of grass.
Andreas Pereira 6 – Just as McTominay struggled to fill in Matic’s boots so did Pereira with Herrera’s boots. A willing runner but just like the rest of the team, struggled to get going.
