The above statistics become even more astounding when you realise that, for most of the season, Pogba was at war with his manager, who wasn’t even starting him by the end.
There is a strong case to suggest that Pogba, at this moment in time, deserves to be recognised as the best midfielder in the world. Games like today were a case in point: it felt like Pogba was playing on a different level altogether, like putting a grainy, pixelated image next to an Ultra-HD canvass.
