Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke effusively about Marcus Rashford’s performance following Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
The 21-year-old, who has started all six league games under Solskjaer, marked his 150th club appearance with a sensational goal, cutting inside and curling a precise shot into the top right hand corner.
It was the latest chapter of Rashford’s scintillating renaissance since the arrival of Solskjaer. The youngster now has four goals in as many games, and looks simply indispensable at No.9.
Speaking after the game, Solskjaer was once again quick to sing Rashford’s praises.

Confidence is absolutely surging through Rashford at the moment.
Under Jose Mourinho he was a reliable influence who could add some energy to performances but, as was generally the case with the past regime, it somehow felt as if Rashford was nonetheless like a coiled spring, waiting to unleash that innate ferocity with the ball at his feet, only to be denied by the orthodoxy of his manager.
That menace is now pouring out of him like water exploding through a broken dam. The way he tore across the pitch against Brighton – gathering loose balls, making runs which weren’t seen, firing off free-kicks – was indicative of not just an authentically talented individual but indeed somebody who truly believes in himself.
