Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku has revealed the reason to his return to goalscoring form, praising Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s impact on him.
The Belgian was experiencing a drought of sorts prior to the Norwegian’s arrival and attributed his revival to the new manager’s advice.
Solskjaer has seemingly had an impact on many of his players since several stars have praised him but more importantly he’s won all five of the games he’s managed so far.
Lukaku managed to score in two back to back games after coming off the bench both times to great effect.
The striker then managed to net against Reading in the FA Cup to make it three goals in as many matches to prove he’s back in form.
According to 101 Great Goals, Romelu said to MUTV: “In training you see he helps us a lot with finishing and how to strike the ball.
“He explains how to move away from the ball and the way he wants us to play really benefits me.
“It helps me to get in a position where I want to be and he understands what type of striker I am and he works to our strengths.
“He knows I want to play through the middle, facing the goal at all times. He knows I’m really dangerous at that.
“But, also helping the team off the ball and things like that. He helps me a lot and I try to pay off with goals.”
It’s pretty worrying that Lukaku seems to suggest the man who brought him to the club in Jose Mourinho didn’t quite understand him.
It’s also clear to see the former Everton man’s preferred way of playing and fans agree with him as they’ve had concerns over his hold-up play, build-up play and first touch.
Romelu is probably not the target-man that everyone sees him to be and is arguably a poacher who so happens to have plenty of strength.
