Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata is yet to complete a loan move to Atletico Madrid according to football.london.
The Spaniard has been heavily linked with a move back to Spain since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, and a move to Atletico had appeared to be completed earlier this week.
However, Diego Simeone has revealed no deal has been agreed between the two clubs, though Morata is almost certainly going to leave Chelsea before the end of the January transfer window.
The Blues signed Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain on loan in midweek, with an option to buy the forward or extend his loan deal for an extra 12 months at the end of the season, increasing the speculation that Morata was on his was to the Spanish capital.
The Spaniard, who was also linked with a move to Sevilla, hit the ground running after his £58million move from Juventus, scoring six goals in his first six games.
However the 26-year-old has cast a frustrated figure this season, scoring just nine times in 28 appearances in all competitions this campaign.
And despite reports of a completed move to Atletico earlier in the week, Simeone insists they are yet to reach a deal with Chelsea for the striker.
Beyond all the wonderful words you have been saying, there is nothing done. What matters is what is done. We are who we are here and we have to be smart approaching tomorrow’s game. And if, finally, Morata’s transfer becomes real, I will speak on my thoughts.
