Arsenal’s Sead Kolasinac has revealed what he believes to be the key behind Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Chelsea at the weekend (via Arsenal.com).
It was such a vital win for Arsenal on the weekend as they reaffirmed their top-four aspirations with all three points against Chelsea.
First-half goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Laurent Koscielny were enough for all three points as the Gunners picked up a vital win.
After the match, Sead Kolasinac was asked what he thought was key to the victory.
“I think our aggression – we were very strong in the duels and had two really good chances in the first 10 minutes,” Kolasinac said after the game.
“We didn’t take them, and that pushed us on further, along with the fans’ support. We really deserved to go in front and what was so important was that we scored the second before half-time too.
“That brought us stability, and then in the second half we had to defend, which we did. I’m pleased we kept a clean sheet too and that, together with the three points, made it a very satisfying evening.”
It certainly was a satisfying evening. The 2-0 victory saw Arsenal go within three points of their top-four rivals with a lot of football left to be played. Champions League qualification was always going to be the main aim this season and the club took one major step towards that aim on the weekend.
