AS Monaco manager Thierry Henry is hoping to use his contacts to lure Michy Batshuayi to the Ligue 1 club in the January transfer window, according to a report on InsideFutbol.
The Belgian international has had an unsuccessful loan spell at Valencia so far this season and the Spanish La Liga club are thinking about cutting his season-long loan deal short.
And if they do so, then Henry is ready to swoop in and take the striker for the remainder of the season to Monaco, who are seriously struggling this season.
Henry has worked with Batshuayi during his time as the assistant manager of Belgium and could use his personal relationship to convince the striker to move to France.
Henry’s side are currently second to last in the table with only 13 points and they need to pick up some victories quickly.
Chelsea are reportedly speaking to several other clubs regarding Batshuayi, with fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace said to be very interested in securing his services.
