Manchester United co-owner Avram Glazer has been pictured meeting officials in Saudi Arabia amid talk of a potential takeover bid.
It was reported in October that the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammad Bin Salman, was interested in following the suit of his Qatari and Emirati neighbours by entering the world of sport, with Man United – owned by the Glazer family since 2005 – seen as an ideal candidate.
No official word has come from Man United in response to these claims, although it is clear that the Glazer family is not open to selling the club at this moment in time.
The picture of Mr Glazer, taken by the son of Saudi official Moh Abosak, may have caused a stir on initial viewing, but it should be made clear that United’s co-owner is in Riyadh for the MISK global forum, a two-day event that “brings young leaders, creators and thinkers together with established global innovators”.

Reports have stated that any successful takeover bid from the Saudis would need to be in the region of £4bn.
The reality, however, is that the Glazers are in no mind whatsoever to sell a club which yields enormous yearly profit, regardless of what happens on the pitch.
