Chelsea tipped to complete deal for striker

Chelsea will sign a striker before the start of next season, according to the club’s former player Pat Nevin.

Speaking about Chelsea’s current options in the final third, as reported by West London Sport, Nevin believes that Sarri will be left with no choice but to strengthen in the coming months.

It’s not the end of the road for Morata or Giroud. I do expect a new centre-forward by next season. But having three strikers is not beyond the realms of possibility.

Much has been made about the form of Alvaro Morata, who despite impressing in recent weeks, continues to look a shadow of the player that first arrived at Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid.

The Spaniard had previously lost his place under Sarri in the Chelsea starting XI, but his brief glimpse of form has seen him work his way back into the role of the club’s leading striker.

Morata has found the back of the next five times this season in the Premier League but has often looked short of any confidence in front of goal.
