Cesc Fabregas is contemplating a deal to leave Chelsea during the January transfer window, with Milan keen to sign the Spaniard.
According to reports in Italy, as cited on Sport, Gennaro Gattuso’s side are interested in bringing the player to Serie A, but the player’s wages could prove to be a stumbling block in any potential deal.
Despite his limited role within the side, Fabregas remains one of the higher paid players at Stamford Bridge.
The Spaniard is out of contract at the end of the season and no new deal appears to be in the offing.
Fabregas is now said to be waiting to see if an offer from the San Siro arrives in the new year.
Chelsea could take the decision to loan the player out for the remainder of the campaign if wages are proving to be an issue, something the club will reportedly do with defender Gary Cahill.
