Juventus have pinpointed Marcus Rashford as a prospective transfer target and have begun compiling a dossier on the youngster ahead of a potential summer bid, according to the Times‘ Paul Hirst.
The youngster has been tracked by the Serie A champions – who reportedly monitored Anthony Martial over the summer – even before the two sides met in back-to-back Champions League clashes earlier this season.
Rashford, consigned primarily to the left hand side, has only made five Premier League starts this season, prompting some to suggest that a move elsewhere would help further his development.
Supporters will be wary of the fact that Juventus, back in 2012, pinched another one of their homegrown stars – Paul Pogba.
Rashford’s situation, however, is notably different: the 21-year-old is one of Mourinho’s most used players since he took over the reins at Old Trafford, making more appearances (53) than any other player over the 2016/17 campaign. Pogba, on the other hand, was not getting the game time his quality deserved under Sir Alex Ferguson.
According to the Telegraph‘s James Ducker, club vice-chairman Ed Woodward views Rashford, along with Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard and Luke Shaw, as an asset he will never consider selling under any circumstances. In that case, even a mammoth bid from Juventus may not be enough.
