Manchester United target Gareth Bale’s future at Real Madrid is uncertain despite the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer.
Ronaldo joining Italian side Juventus at the end of last season appeared to signal a new era at Real Madrid where Bale would lead the way for Los Blancos.
However, Real Madrid’s club president Florentino Perez’s hopes of Bale being the new star have not been fulfilled yet, with the Welshman scoring only three goals so far this season.
Spanish outlet El Periodico reports that Bale’s future is uncertain as the Real Madrid board, headed up by Perez, consider selling Bale at the end of the season.
The 29-year-old has never managed to become Real Madrid’s main man since signing from Tottenham Hotspur and has often been linked to Manchester United and a return to the Premier League.
The Spanish newspaper suggests that United are now simply waiting for a ‘yes’ from the player and his representatives to make a deal possible.
Fellow Premier League clubs Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, though, would also be looking at signing the forward.
Bale has always previously resisted any temptations of a Premier League return, though, hoping to make his mark at the Santiago Bernabeu.
