Chelsea defender David Luiz has revealed that he believes the club’s fine start to the season is down to new manager Maurizio Sarri.
As reported on Sky Sports, the Blues are still unbeaten in all competitions this season, with David Luiz rejuvenating his career under Sarri.
The centre-back has become a regular starter and is forming a brilliant partnership at the back with Antonio Rudiger.
Sarri prefers Luiz over Andreas Christensen and Gary Cahill and the Brazilian was impressive once again as the Blues defeated Burnley 4-0 at Turf Moor on Sunday.
Luiz believes that Sarri’s management has been the key to their success so far. He said:
I’m so happy because he’s a great human, he knows how to teach us, he knows how to improve us. When it’s like that it’s easy to understand and easy to try to be a fantastic player inside the pitch.
I had the opportunity to play in many fantastic squads, I won with great teams but also lost with great teams. I think with this team it’s trying to improve every single day.
The manager is here for three or four months now so he’s trying to improve our style of football, our philosophy.
Luiz never really got a good run of form under the previous Chelsea boss Antonio Conte but is back to his best after Sarri showed faith in him.
