Jose Mourinho did not meet with the Manchester United board to discuss his future with Ed Woodward, the BBC’s Simon Stone has confirmed.
The 55-year-old’s poor start to the season – during which Man United have only won two home games and conceded 14 league goals – has led to mass speculation over his future at the club.
Some reports during the week suggested that Mourinho would meet with the board for talks over his future at the club.
But according to the reliable Stone, no such meeting ever took place.
Am told there was no board meeting at Man Utd today.

Mourinho’s situation at United is untenable. That second half comeback against Newcastle was spirited and thrilling, but it was not, by any stretch, a sign of things turning around at Old Trafford. This team has not evolved stylistically or tactically and, after three summers, Mourinho still does not know his best team.
The club will not want to pull the plug on Mourinho midway through the season. But they will know, deep down, that the man they hired to bring the club trophies will not come close to winning any this season. Managerial spells can often be defined as peaks and troughs. And it is clear that United, under Mourinho, are not heading in the right direction.
