Manchester United fans were certainly right to feel disappointed after their side crashed out of the Carabao Cup competition against Championship side Derby.
However, the only disappointment isn’t just the loss that could potentially have been excused in isolation.
The context is though, United have struggled at home so far this season and look a side devoid of any kind of motivation.
Jose Mourinho has stated multiple times the attitude of his players has been poor and it’s reflected particularly at Old Trafford.
The results are worrying enough on their own but the latest statistic to emerge is sure to concern supporters even further.

The aforementioned statistic adds more weight to Mourinho’s insistence on bringing in a centre-back during the summer.
Unfortunately, for whatever reason, that didn’t quite happen and even against Championship side Derby, the Red Devils looked shaky.
The defenders don’t usually look good on the ball in normal situations but are obviously worse when put under pressure.
Frank Lampard clearly instructed his players to hassle Manchester United’s defence at every opportunity and it worked.
Apart from that it could even be argued that both of Derby’s goals were down to individual error.
Their first goal was a fantastically taken free-kick but it was still a needless one to give away.
Their second was certainly worse given how Lee Grant had done his job to save the initial effort but was let down by his defenders failing to be as quick as Derby’s attackers.
It’s practically a weekly occurrence on United’s defenders being solely responsible for conceding goals and fans are already sick of it.
Jose’s certainly done plenty to try to protect his defence, switching from a 4-2-3-1 formation to a 4-3-3 one so they would have more cover.
The Portuguese manager even had Marouane Fellaini almost as deep as the defence itself to provide more protection and it still wasn’t enough at times.
